Crystalline 03:27
The straightest line Won’t change over time Whether yours or mine Crystalline These patterns are signs No doubt in my mind Crystalline No bend no curve no changing course No shift no skew no brutal force Crystalline No cracks no breaks no disarray No splits no tears no fade away Crystalline Just picture the shape I will show you the way It will be okay
2.
Waves of the summer Souls you don’t even know are there, by the river Pale as the evening glow exhale, as we shiver Shades of a dreamy Primrose Hill, down below us Graves of forgotten names that… Stay so young Make no sound as we Lay ourselves down Faces that shape our homes Bones of the willing Throne of a city lined with old mausoleums Tales of a journey’s ending shared with the living Framed for a generation bold and discerning Names and forgotten ages Waves of the summer Souls you don’t even know are there, by the river Pale as the evening glow exhale, as we shiver Shades of a dreamy Primrose Hill, down below us Graves on a sleeping lonesome lane.

Fires light up the sky No one waits for us When all the lights go down No one makes a fuss You’re all my arms away Face forwards You’re all my arms can take Face forwards Keep falling… You saved us Where I go the clouds come down A fallen bravely husk Panic that makes no sound Heartache fades to dust Life in the shallow waves No one makes a fuss And when the light goes out Breathe slow
5.
Have you ever wondered if rainfalls feel bad when you’re sad, or can they lift you out of time and space to a place of comfort? On the other hand they fuel brainstorms that breathe life to your life and the rhythm of the drops draws a line to your… Soul, have you ever wondered if it’s all a show for us to feed Our ever growing curiosities, our minds expand to see
Have you ever wondered if it’s worth, the time we spend concerned About the things we hope will never change, for us again Levitating with the mourners that feel glad when you’re back behind the prison of a droll landscape beheading monsters. Respirating on the ceiling between bands in your hands, as the vision of a time and place presents an exit. So, have you ever wondered if it’s all a show for us to feed Our ever growing curiosities, our minds expand to see
Have you ever wondered if it’s worth, the time we spend concerned
About the things we hope will never change, for us again From nothing, the time we have is all we have.

Bring out your sonnets and bury your shame
Our poor lonesome planet with scars on the brain
Midnight melodic with violent decay Clenching the fists in a tourniquet The Earth The swirling molten insides of the earth Cascading down the hillsides towards the firth Unfurling golden landslides to smother us Have you heard the silence of all kingdom come?
Vanishing sirens and screams come undone Live out your days underneath the red sun Formulate angles to spear beyond The Earth
A fallen lonely ash pile atomic Earth The days belong to flash fires and sonic bursts Deranged and brawling missiles from the gods Save our souls…
 Save our runaways…

about

Crystalline is the debut EP from Symmetrist, a new alternative music act from Southampton, UK.

Symmetrist is Ian Horlock (vocals) and Dave Jones (instruments), who met playing in bands around the city, but wanted to try something a bit different. Dave and Ian composed remotely, sending tracks to-and-fro, adding layers at a time to gradually build each song (like the sad 'Postal Service'!).

We hope you enjoy, and spread the word if you do, as there will be more to come...
